Mopping to me is like Sisyphus and his rock. My floors were gross. Really gross. I skipped last week's mopping because we were dog-sitting and then delayed this weeks from Tuesday until last night after our "guest" left and I looked at the hair and the spills and I had to clean (that isn't normal, for those who know me). So at 11pm last night I was vacuuming and mopping. I went to bed exhausted but happy that my house was actually somewhat orderly.
We woke up this morning, all in good moods. Came down and started making pancakes. Gave the kids their milk to drink while they waiting for their flapjacks and I heard, "Oh no!". Yup, Jane spilled her milk all over my newly mopped floor. No use crying, just wiped it up, but still... I look forward to days of clean floors and non-sticky chairbacks.
So perhaps this is late coming, but my newly 4 year old son made his first sandwich all by himself today. He got the bread out, opened the jar and spread the jelly all by himself. Small feat, but it made me proud!
