1 Feb -- Jane Eating and Charlie in Daddy's Hat

Jane still loves to eat.

Charlie liked trying on my hat.

1 Feb -- Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon

Yesterday we went to the Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon and it was awesome. The weather was a balmy 50F and the sun was out. The fortress is 200+ years old and beautifully restored. The hike to the top of the hill was quite the challenge and we feel it in our legs today.

The view from the top was cool.
Charge!

The hike to the top was exhausting, but we were reassured when we saw other people at the top panting, too.

No, this isn't the Battle of Gettysburg.

Charlie walked up most of the steps by himself.

26 Jan -- Carrots and Ice

Here are a couple videos for your enjoyment.

Charlie loves the short film before Wall-E called "Presto". It has a magician who won't give his rabbit a carrot so the the rabbit mimics eating a carrot to encourage the magician to feed him. (Maybe you should just watch "Presto".)

Charlie loved pulling the ice off of the cars. Notice his "Yes!" followed by the (Adam) Edgar "Woo-hoo!"

26 Jan -- Let it Snow

So we were hit with a nice snow storm this weekend. Charlie and Dan ventured out while Jane and I stayed cozy in the house. Charlie had a blast with the snow and we're wishing he'd had a snowsuit to wear for it. He didn't seem to mind the cold, though, and we got some fun pictures out of it.

I shoved my stroller through the snowy sidewalks today to get to the post office. The sidewalks are a low priority and they probably assumed no one would be silly enough to attempt the trek with a non-snow friendly double stroller...they obviously have never met me!

I love snow

Charlie with his new haircut...much less mopsy

18 Jan -- Trains, Standing, and Chopsticks

Charlie still loves his trains. He cheers on Percy as goes by and sometimes lies his head close to the track so it can brush his hair because that is hilarious.

Jane is trying to pull herself up and can get to a crouch position but hasn't pushed up yet.

Charlie is pretty good with the kid chopsticks he got for Christmas. The video at the end of this posting is pretty impressive.

Jane standing.

Jane trying to fly away.

Charlie makes the best tunnel of them all.

Go Percy! Go!

I see you...

"I think I need some more blue..."

11 Jan -- And one more "crash" site

Tonight we had another first...Charlie fell asleep at the dinner table! I'm talking, couldn't rouse him even while scrubbing pasta sauce off his face. However, the promise of a popsicle was enough to bring him back to life.

Jane loves Pasta Gina, too!

11 Jan -- It's about time posting!

All's well here. Jane has started crawling, mostly backwards. But today she has made some forward progress which is so exciting to watch!

Charlie's been refusing naps as well as "quiet time" and has suffered in sleep because of it. We're fighting it out, though, and I refuse to be broken!!!!

Fingerpainting in the tub!

Charlie's refusal to naps has made for some new "crash" spots

Couldn't make it to the bed...

Jane and Dan at the Hail and Farewell

A first for Charlie to fall asleep in the stroller during our usual walk to check the mail
