14 Jun -- Washington DC

After dropping Rosie off at a dog sitter (courtesy of DogVacay.com) we parked by the Washington Monument at 8:30!  Not too shabby for a family of 6 plus dog.

 Jane approves.

We walked from the Washington Monument over to the World War II Memorial.

 Onto the Korean War Memorial.

Abe Lincoln would not look our way.

Everybody held up quite well considering the heat and humidity.

 Finally...the air-conditioned goodness of a Smithsonian Museum.

Due to the recent Night at the Museum movies, the Museum of Natural History was an extra big hit with the kiddos.

This station would take your picture and morph it into a caveman.  The kids' reactions were priceless!

 T-Rex!

Jane is not sure about this one.

Next stop -- the Air and Space Museum.

 Jane really approves.

It's the cockpit from the A-10!

Off to Carlisle, PA!  ...and they're out!

 We made it to Carlisle!

On Monday, Charlie had his first day at soccer camp.

13 Jun -- Arlington National Cemetery

We made it to Washington DC in one piece so we headed for Arlington National Cemetery.

Always time for a picture of the peace...

 Onward we roll.

Robert E. Lee's house in the background.

Rosie relaxin' (translation = nearly panting to death) in the shade.

Another night on the road.
