On our way to Savannah, we stopped by Fort McAllister.
George was not psyched.
Charlie digs the camping display.
Earthworks! "Located south of Savannah on the banks of the Ogeechee River, this
scenic park showcases the best-preserved earthwork fortification of the
Confederacy."
Into the earthworks!
On the move, tongue and all.
Always time for a quick stop at a playground.
We then went to go hike the Redbird Creek Nature Trail.
We were warned they had to clear cut a lot of the trees due to a Pine Beetle infestation.
They weren't kidding! Kind of sad.
So we turned around pretty quickly.
You can almost make out the dark blue clouds in the distance. That is in the direction of Savannah where there was currently a tornado warning.
