6 Apr -- San Gimignano, Italy (Day 2)

We had a great breakfast each morning.

Morning routine--8am Anna sits down with Charlie and Jane.  At 8:30 I arrive with Henry, who lasts about 3 minutes.  Then Anna leaves with Henry and I continue to eat with Jane (and sometimes Charlie).  A nice way to start each day.

The bed and breakfast had a great playing area for the kids to run around.

San Gimignano is in the distance.

At the gates of San Gimignano.

The town wasn't too crowded--which was nice.

One of the cool 14 towers in the town.

We stayed true to our promise to the kids: pizza (and pasta and gelato) every day!

A nice playground with a sweet view.

Priceless purchase of the trip: an 8 euro soccer ball.  Every town we went (minus Venice and Florence) we played soccer.  Each time some kids would join us.  It was a great time!

Henry can really ham it up for pictures.

 Gelato as promised.

At times, when I would take Charlie's picture, he would either dash away to hide, or as pictured above, he would turn and shake his little booty.  What a sweet boy.

In the afternoon we had some coloring time...

...and a snack back at the B&B.

We also played in the backyard.

Nice view of the Chianti area.
