8 Feb -- Cienega Creek Reserve, Vail, Arizona

This morning I took Charlie and Henry (Jane was not feeling great) to Cienega Creek Reserve in Vail, Arizona.  It was awesome!  The trails were nice, there was water, there was shade...and best of all -- 10 huge trains went by with the conductors waiving their hands out the windows.

The trail leading into the Cienega Creek Reserve is called the Gabe Zimmerman Davidson Canyon Trail.  It is named after Gabe Zimmerman, an aide to U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.  Zimmerman was killed on January 8, 2011, along with five others, during a shooting rampage that targeted Giffords.

 Standard Tucson weather.

 Water and REAL trees!

 Cool train tracks.

Lots of great places to explore.

Just one of the 10 trains that went by in the two hours we were there.

 Nice place for lunch.

Lucky for us...this was the only rattlesnake we saw today!
