30 Mar -- Henry's 6 Weeks

Henry is 6 weeks old today.  If he follows the trend he's been on, he should be about 12 lbs, 12 oz this week.  He's started smiling at us and spending a little more time awake during the day.  Usually he's very sweet and laid back.  The last 48 hours have been more frustrating, though, because he's been eating every 1.5-2 hours even through the night.  And he cries if I'm not holding him during the day (he may prove to be the most stubborn Edgar yet!).

Because this is what he looked like most of the day today.

28 Mar -- Rothenburg ob der Tauber Part 2

On Sunday morning, after our delicious breakfast, we went to the southern tip of the town where we climbed every step and went thru every door we could find.

The previous couple pictures were taken inside the stone structure you see in the background above.

Always something to point out.

Little help here...

Car!  Up against the wall!

Game on...

You could walk along the inside of the wall and look over the town inside and also thru little windows outside.

We were glad to see 'ob der Tauber' during the off season after walking along the narrow walkways.

Anna makes this look easy.

27 Mar -- Rothenburg ob der Tauber Part 1

On Saturday we drove east/southeast.  We had a reservation in Heidelberg but our eyes set on Rothenburg ob de Tauber (not to be confused with Rothenburg without the 'ob de Tauber' or Rottenburg).  The weather turned out to be 'good enough' so we pressed onto old 'ob de Tauber.'  Anna booked a room on the phone as we drove into town and then quickly cancelled the other one in Heidelberg which will have to wait for another weekend.

This was the hotel we stayed at.  It was awesome...which means they let the 5 of us stay in one room (with no additional charge) and we enjoyed their free breakfast on Sunday morning.

The city of Rothenburg is super beautiful and well preserved.

For those who visited our blog: have no fear.  This is not Everland.

The town is surrounded by a huge fort wall.  This was the garden area just beside out hotel.
Charlie and Jane doing their best old couple impersonation.
There was a man playing classical guitar along the wall.
This store looks quaint from the front, but when you get inside you realize the store goes on forever (a couple stories inside) and makes up over 50% of the 'guts' of the town.

Anna took the kids back to the hotel just before dinner and I got to go explore on my own for about an hour.

Charlie took this one and the next.

We ate pizza from the Italian place in town.  It was good--but best of all, George Clooney is on the cover of the pizza box!

26 Mar -- I'm Beautiful, but Apparently So is This Woman

This morning I was deeply touched when Charlie turned to me and said, "You're beautiful, Mommy".  I mean, no one other than my husband could say this and melt my heart that much.   Before my eyes had a chance to fill with tears of joy, he turned and pointed to the TV and said "She's beautiful, too!"   I realized his standards were perhaps not the same as my standards for beauty.  For this was not Heidi Klum that he was pointing at, but at this woman...

24 Mar -- My Son, the Photographer, the Singer

Pictures by Charlie (Minus the awful one of me.  Picture Jane's hairdo, but without the awesome red color and dark circles under the eyes and chubbier cheeks and that's my pic)

This is the most random song.  We were just sitting around playing and Charlie started singing.  It took me a sec to realize he was singing a Black Eyed Peas song.  Not a bad rendition.  Maybe we'll take him to sing karaoke some time.

20 Mar -- Henry Asleep and Henry Awake

The other kids hated tummy time. Henry, however, is different. He's so alert when he's looking around I love to see his curious little face.

17 Mar -- Sunny Days

Well, the day didn't start off all that great.  Charlie decided while at the daycare that he didn't want to be at the daycare, so we drove home with many missions left unaccomplished.  This included Henry's weigh-in.  But, the day improved and our broken dryer was replaced with a brand shiny new dryer.  After the kids quiet time, the weather was gorgeous and we spent some time in the backyard.  Then a friend brought a fantastic, delicious meal that we all inhaled with green cupcakes to finish it off.

It wasn't cold, she just insisted on the hat

She wasn't happy when I tried to take her hat off.  Charlie helped rectify the situation.
