23 Jan -- American Military Cemetery, Luxembourg

Today we went to Luxembourg to see the Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial.  It was very impressive.

This was taken from inside the Memorial Chapel.

5,076 military members are buried here.

Over 100 of them have not been identified.

This is General Patton's site.  In military cemeteries, you are not supposed to put any member in a position of prominence, but the country of Luxembourg, with the love for Patton, demanded that he be placed a the top.  (This may be urban legend because I cannot remember where I heard this.)

We stopped by a German cemetery a couple miles away.

Definately a different place.

Little bit darker.

We then went to the town of Dudelange, Luxembourg, to try and find some castle ruins.  It took Anna speaking German to a local old man, but we finally found it.

The woods were real nice.

Unfortunately, the ruins are being fortified.  Bummer.

Still a nice walk in the woods.

18 Jan -- Jane's "Assam Draggins" Bath Towel

I finally made Jane her well-deserved custom-crafted 25th Fighter Squadron "Assam Draggins" bath towel since she was born and bread in Korea.

She LOVES putting her hands under the paw pads.

Sweet tail.

Time to HAM IT UP!

DRAGGIN!

2 Jan -- Sledding at Charlie's School

Charlie and I went sledding at his Kindergarten.  It was a lot of fun.

28 Dec -- To the Sim!

Charlie, Jane, and I went to the sim for some fun.

Charlie points to our house in Dudeldorf.

Jane liked the sim for a bit, but stepped aside pretty quickly so Charlie could have his turn.

Charlie LOVED the sim.  He was the one who asked, "Can I go fly the pretend A-10?"  I think he would have flown around for hours.

5 Jan -- Anna Goes Red

To brighten up the winter, Anna has dyed her hair red...

...and it looks AMAZING!

 Hamming it up with Henry.

1 Jan -- Henry Cruisin'

Not only is Henry cruisin a lot now, he cruises on top of toys.

Henry got up there all by himself.

Dan orderd Julio's Chips over the phone, a mainstay of anybody who has lived in Del Rio, Texas.

Charlie and Jane were not getting along, so we made them sit in a chair together.

...but they don't always stop crying right away.

31 Dec -- Snow and a Bath

Nice New Year's Eve day just hanging out around the house, playing in the snow.

Anna gave us a bowl and powdered pink lemonade mix and a spoon so we could make our own flavored ice.

It was pretty good, although quite bitter and strong at times.

Never can have enough pics of the kids in the bath.

Henry marvels at the water flying thru the air.

27 Dec -- Nerf Guns and Clementines

Anna had an epic Nerf Gun battle with Charlie, and she won...check out the sweet red circle on the right side of Charlie's forehead.

...so maybe it doesn't show up that red, but it looked great in person.

Instead of using a slab of meat, Charlie prefers freshly peeled clementines.
