27 Sep -- Schonecken Castle, Germany

On Sunday, we went to the Schonecken Castle ruins. There was just a few walls left and best of all, there was an amazing view of the town below.

Charlie jumping for joy.

Jane is blown away by Charlie's kind heart.

This time I am not kidding: Charlie really took this picture and had a blast. Of course the camera is as big as Charlie's head.

This is still Charlie taking pictures.

Now it is my turn.

27 Sep -- The Past Week

Here's a weeks worth of posts. Random? Yes. Funny? I think so!

Going through our hats and gloves box

Our kids start the Jeopardy obsession early

We're taking potty training lightly at this point. This is the "getting to know you" phase.

All "Edgar" safety measures were taken in order for Charlie to watch Daddy mow the lawn.

Anyone who has watched the "Friends" episode will appreciate this clip

20 Sep -- Soccer/Fussball in Dudeldorf

Charlie and I spent the afternoon at the soccer field in Dudedorf. It is about a 10 minute walk. Most towns in Germany have a soccer field or two. One is often dirt that they use throughout the winter in order to not damage their grass fields.

Having fun with the timer.

Charlie thought that if he pulled on the rope in the corner of the net that it would return the ball to me.

19 Sep -- Grape Picking along the Mosel

Today we went to a winery along the Mosel River for some grape picking. After picking, we enjoyed some wine and brats and then watched as they processed the grapes we picked...minus the ones Charlie ate, of course.

Yes, there was a safety class for the kids on how to use the scissors.

Spot check.

The grape passed Charlie's high standards.

12 Sep -- Beaufort Castle, Luxembourg

Today we ventured outside of Germany into our neighbor to the west; Luxembourg. We went to a castle there and played a lot of hide and seek, a traditional turn of the 12th century children's game.

Old school ding dong ditching, traditionally known as a knock and flock away.

Where is daddy...

...watch out, here he is!

Charlie's awesome hiding place.

6 Sep -- Bernkastel Wine Fest

Today we went to Bernkastel for their wine fest. It was a lot of fun. There were a bunch of bands, with lots of drums, and of course, ice cream.

Blue steel.

All percussion band that was awesome.

Jane was not afraid to bust a move.

Ice cream time.
